Hello,

not sure if this is the right place to post….

I’m having a jutter/stutter issue with video playback on PC, and possibly g-sync issue.

I have a 2021 OLED LG tv I just got. If I watch a movie on an app loaded on the TV, like Netflix, the movie runs smooth as glass, which is what I want. In the tv settings, TruMotion and similar setting are on.

if I watch a movie on my PC via a video file, or say something through a web browser (even the same example, Netflix) I get a slight jutter. It annoys the heck out of me. When I go into the TVs settings, many of the features are grayed out. Is there a way to fix this? Can I turn these settings on somehow? I have a brand new gaming PC connected directly to the back of the graphics card to the tv via HDMI

when I play games, everything works fine and smooth, except for screen tearing. This tv has G-sync which I was excited about, so I turned it on in the nvidia settings, and turned off v-sync. Launch any game, and major tearing. I turn on v-sync and it’s good, does g sync work in tandem with v sync? Or is it not working right?

So these two things are driving me nuts (the g sync isn’t as bad) but I hate getting the jutter effect on my pc.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

First things first:

If its a 2021 model, it's likely a B1/C1 series, though most of what I'm posting below is relevant back to the B9/C9.

1: Make sure the name of the Input you are using is set to "PC"; without doing so the TV will process the incoming signal incorrectly due to differences in color spaces and other TV/PC differences. Also make sure the Game Optimizer is enabled from the Game Optimizer menu; doing so will also enable the lowest possible latency.

1.5: Note that while in PC mode and with Game Optimizer activated most of the latency-adding features (like Truemotion) are disabled as they negatively impact gaming. Note Truemotion should be off in any case; the panel is 120Hz native and Truemotion is just adding a ton of...

Check out the AVS Forum, they have a dedicated thread for gaming on the LG OLED's.

You should list all the hardware you are using, pc and what version TV (the CX or C1).

does it stutter on a regular monitor as well? we need to find out what exactly is the problem

is memory from a kit or sourced from single parts? are you running ram in dual channel? are you using XMP profile in BIOS to get best speeds?

Note Truemotion should be off in any case; the panel is 120Hz native and Truemotion is just adding a ton of latency and might be the cause of the issue you are seeing.

2: The TV fully supports HDMI 2.1, though to gain access to most of the features (such as 4k120 or uncompressed 4k60) you need a HDMI cable capable of supporting that much bandwidth (Ultra High Speed) and an HDMI 2.1 compliant GPU (NVIDIA 3000 series or AMD 6000 series).

3: VRR support for NVIDIA is locked to the 1600/2000/3000 series (NVIDIA backported HDMI VRR to the 1600/2000 series a few months back). You can check if it's enabled from the Game Optimizer menu on the TV.
