Hi there,
I'm using the Olympus C8080 and I have two questions

1. Internet photography issue

I have Samigon CSA600 Internet photo studio 2 x 81/2" X 11" light unit
5000 day light balanced flourecent bolb.

What would be the best camera setting for that ?

Like:
Aperture: f.5
Shutter speed: 1/60
ISO: 200
White balance: Day light or Fluorescent

2. Printing Photography (setting) issue

I have Smith Victor Light Kit 12" 500Watts/120Volts Tungsten lights
(2 Flood Light)

What would be the best camera setting for that ?

Like : Aperture ? Shutter speed ? ISO ? and WB ?

Thanks,

For the daylight balanced 5000 day light balanced fluorescent bulb the
setting for White balance most likely be Daylight since the color
temperature of the set is 5000K.

For the Smith Victor Light Kit 12" 500 Watts/120Volts Tungsten lights the
White balance would be Tungsten. They are 3200K color temperature.

The shutter speed and aperture is determined by the amount of light
generated and the distance the lights are from the subject.

Use the built in exposure meter in the camera or get an external light
meter. Read the light reflected from a Kodak Gray Card for the most accurate
reading. Gray Cards (18% reflectance) are often found in Photography books.
I have several books that have a Gray Card as the inside cover.

Depth of field issues are addressed by higher aperture numbers (smaller
hole). There is limit to the range of shutter speed and aperture that can be
used for a given light level.

If the camera is mounted on a tripod, shutter speed issues about motion are
eliminated.
Higher shutter speed stops motion.

Perhaps this chart will give you an idea. EV15 is average outside sunny day
daylight.

This camera has a white balance schema that can be set, along with other
settings in several profiles. I'd suggest that you download the tech manual
from the Olympus web site. Sometimes I wish that you could just "dial in" a
color temperature and go.

A bright white flat paper can be used as a target if nothing else is
available.
