Omni-directional Vs Uni-Directional Mic?

I'm looking into buying the Audio-Technica ATH-m50X's and need a mic for the headphones. I saw the Modmic and was wondering whether I need Omni vs. Uni directional Mic. On amazon they can come packaged together for $169 right now.

Omnidirectional devices broadcast or receive their signals from all directions.
Unidirectional devices, on the other hand, are more focused on picking up or transmitting their signals in one direction.
It's up to you what you prefer.

uni is from one direction best for others not to hear other noises in the room. Omni is more of a room mic.
