omnibook win2k ?

Question for you techs. HP omnibook XE3 win2k pro sp1. Starts up fine. After you log in it just shows the background and the mouse pointer. The only thing running is explorer.exe It does this on all profiles (including admin) and does it in safe mode.

Any ideas?

It was a remote users pc. he said he just uses it for email and stuff. and hadn't installed anything. I dunno. I'm going ot back it up and blow it away tommorrow.
