Ive been going insane tryin to fix this problem. One day, I go boot up my pc and BOOM, no audio. So I tried to reinstall drivers and it went fine until i tried to listen to a song but ther was no sound. Alright, then I tried to check to see if i messed something up in the BIOS (asus revision 2005 and no dice. Out of frustration I preformed a clean install and used the default motherboard sound drivers but to no avail. Now, the weird thing is is that Windowzer 7 claims that all is well through diagnostics and sound checks. I tried multiple headphones to rule out the possibility my X12's were the problem. Ive been building PC's since audio wasnt even integrated and ive NEVER seen this! Did the chip go bad? Its under warranty so i can have ASUS fix it but i really dont want to do that. The mobo is an ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 that work perfectly up until now. Also I have a Radeon 7870 that installs a ATI HDMI driver along with it. I tried messing with that but its no use. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
