on board sound stopped working is it gone for good? g1 sniper z87 board

i bought it new awhile back and with in the past few weeks my sound has been acting up. at first it sounded like everything was robotic and echoing which would be fixed with a reboot. now my onboard sound doesnt show up at all. not recognizing that i have headphones plugged in the back or when i try to plug in speakers up front. i tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling but upon reinstall it says i dont have the proper hardware like it doesnt even recognize my on board sound card. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It's dead. Install a sound card unless you want to go through the hassle and delay of RMA it if it's still under warranty.
