Question On board WiFi adapter

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, my research wasn't much use.

I just upgraded from a USB WiFi adapter to an on board adapter.
I can connect no problem, but when I try to connect to 5g, it just automatically connects itself back to 2.4.

I dunno what to do or how to fix it, any help would be appreciated.

You need to set different SSID on the router. If you use the same ssid for 2.4 and 5 it will choose the one with the stronger signal and that is almost always 2.4g since the signal penetrates father.

Not sure how to explain more the router has a wifi settings page. You can configure the 2.4g and 5g radio. You need to set the SSIDs. Exact instruction depend on the model and is generally explained in the setup instructions for the product.
