On gta 5 it freezes everytime I drive fast how do I fix this

So it works fine until I start driving fast it freezes for like 20 seconds and this is my first time installing and playing it started ever since the beginning of my game how do I fix this ? I even updated my gpu driver I have a radeon r9 270x 4gb and fx 6350 and have 8 gb ram and 1 tb hdd

Load up MSI Afterburner and set it to show onscreen while playing. Make note of the stats while driving fast just before it crashes. If the percentage of GPU or CPU usage rises drastically and FPS plummets when driving fast, you may be using too high settings for your spec.

Another way to test is run the in game benchmark and shoot for at least a 40 FPS average. That will not specifically test fast driving though.

I've done a lot of things these past two days first I been running them on all different setting and locking them on different fram rates using msi from 45 to 30 it's my cpu usage no matter what setting it's on I even had it on 800 something pixel and 30 fps and pretty much every setting wws normal it still used a high cpu usage and would freeze so I was wondering if I got a aftermarket cooler would that help ?

And no my game is on a different hdd and yes I've seen my friends operating systems on a ssd it's way fast will invest in one later on and also I just started pc gaming a couple months ago barely getting the hand of it lots to learn and configure for sure

Well still need to know what cpu you are using ?

I would suggest one of the following tune up programs which will fully optimise your pc in trial mode.

https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/4606/system-software/winoptimizer-12 - I have this one myself & find it quite good after a little tinkering.

http://www.tune-up.com/ - I used to use this but they brought out the yearly subscription thing unlike win optimizer 12.

I think you should use Tune Up Utilities to start with as that will tell you what startup programs to disable as it soun d like you have a few apps running taking up cpu %.

I had a amd fx 6350 and I'll try that I tried task manager as well just had steam open and I'll try that run up see if that helps and thank you all for replying aND trying to help posted on steam forum didn't get any help at all

Another thing to mention is if you are using the Crimson drivers from ATi you may need to go back 2-3 versions for now while ATi attempt to fix their faulty drivers, this might cure your problem.
