On it again, help me with my build!

Solution

Alright, then I wouldn't change anything. Just keep in mind if you want to put something like a GTX 980 in it, then you'll probably want a better CPU too later on.

The motherboard isn't a significant factor for supporting CPUs and graphics cards (with this current generation of Intel boards) unless you look at multi-GPU setups and/or overclocking, so your current board is fine even with say a 980 and an i5 or i7.

Actually I plan to upgrade pieces here and there in the future so I figure I'd might as well get the nicer PSU for now- as well as I do not like dealing with non modular.

Stock cooler got me to 4.5Ghz at decent temps.

Here's my data. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2706290/g3258-memory-overclocking-project-reults.html

PSU will run up to GTX 960.

I already have an aftermarket cooler purchased- was going to put it on my build but fan is too small. It'll go on this one.. BUT, I need a motherboard and GPU that can support up to a 980. It would be his birthday present next year or something.
