Question Onboard Audio Issues

My onboard audio recently has encountered some issues and I am hearing constant clicking in some instances in my audio other times it sounds fine. This especially apparent when changing the volume. I am wondering would a sound card fix these issues or could this be driver related?

This is most likely driver related as windows updates drivers regularly. Go into the device manager and right click on your audio device and see if you can roll back the driver

Other than that a sound card is an option and will provide superior sound
