I can't get audio to function on my B450 Aorus M. I bought it no less then a week ago. I installed the drivers from the motherboard website, and nothing shows up in sound settings or device manager (even when showing hidden)
Realtek Audio manager doesn't show up in control panel, The front panel audio doesn't work and neither does the onboard audio. Audio is enabled in BIOS, I have reinstalled the drivers, I have tried every driver version on the Motherboard page at :
Do I need to send the motherboard back? What other steps can I take to fix this? How can I check if the motherboard is broken or if its a software issue?
Thanks.

Deleted Reply - I asked questions you already answered lol.. That's what lack of coffee gets me! 😛

Are the speakers turned on or the headphones plugged in to the green audio jack? lol.. (Sorry, I had to ask)
What version of Windows are you on?
Unplug the front panel and just try the rear. In Windows general sound settings what does it show as Line Out? (Playback)
Have you recently installed new GPU drivers or plug in your monitor? I'm curious if Windows sound settings is trying to send the audio signal to your monitors speakers? (not gonna hear anything if your monitor doesn't have built in speakers lol)

No specs posted other than motherboard. You may have more than one audio device, such as HDMI audio out from a video card.

You can manage which audio device to use in Windows Control Panel>Sound. You can only use one at a time.

Ryzen 5 2600x
Strix GTX 1070 8GB
G.SKILL Aegis 16GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666

My bad, yes I have 4 HDMI audio ports coming from a video card. No, none of them are being used as I am connected through a HDMI to DVI-D converter temporarily, with this said all 4 of the Nvidia High definition outputs are not producing any sound (all labelled not plugged in). The way I am temporarily getting sound is through the use of a USB with an audio port I got from a cheap microphone.

yup, speakers/headphones work through a cheap usb audio jack, im on version 1809 (OS build 17763.379, - this also did not work on version 1507) The back Panel audio did not work for me when I was running it out of a cardboard box (without a front panel to speak of) I have no speakers on my monitor but I do have 4 Nvidia high definition audio devices due to my GPU, they are unused because of my current temporary set up explained in above quote. Also i'm using earbuds.

Thanks for the responses.
