I have an ASUS P7H57D-V EVO motherboard and the onboard LAN has suddenly stopped working.

It started this morning when I couldn't get an internet connection in Ubuntu. Booted into Windows 7 and didn't get a connection there either.

I tried other ethernet cables and still no connection. I then booted up my HP computer and that got a connection fine.

Then somehow I got a connection on my computer but got home from work and it's not working again.

I've plugged in a USB Ethernet adapter I've got and it works fine under Ubuntu, so there's nothing wrong with the cables or my router.

Is this board faulty?

i agree with kik, sometimes on-board lan just frys out. lucky its not expensive to buy a stand alone PCI 10/100 Ethernet adapter (lan) card. 10-20 dollars tops. dont be fooled by those ones that brag they can increase your speed but cost twice as much. they work the same.
