Onboard sound is extremely low...

Hey guys,

recently i just built a whole new system, with a mobo that has an onboard realtek HD audio ALC662. my problem is, why is my sound barely coming through my speakers on full blast? i tried 2 different speakers and the driver has been updated. also, the speakers are old (2 desktop ones) and i think the sound is a 5channel? do i have to change some settings? thanks

Hello and welcome.

Did you install the driver package that came with the motherboard? After doing that did you enter the application program and setup your speaker configuration? There will also master controls in the application for volume, bass, treble, balance, effects, etc.

Are you using powered speakers or is the motherboard powering the speakers directly?
