Onboard sound isn't working, help!

Okay, I have the latest drivers for my computer components and such, install all neccesary software and a few others, went to just try watching a video online, I couldn't hear anything through the case ports or rear audio ports, not sure what's wrong.

The motherboard I have is an ASRock z87 extreme 6

Your video card has probably taken priority over your onboard sound and is trying to send the audio to your monitor. Check in control panel->sound->playback and make sure your onboard is set to the default device.

That would make sense, if my video card was here yet.
