hello everyone, after a quick lookout i came to the conclusion that my build would be capable of 1080/60fps for the next 2 year except for the GPU. I have a i7-3770(not k) and 12gb of ram on a 460 psu build by delta( i think)
i bought a EVGA 1060 SC because one of my friend only life by Nvdia standard by since the last AMD driver update i saw that the 480 was already on par with my GPU. Now considering the fact that i want at least 2 year of 1080/60fps in good quality which card would be the best for me considering that
1) I just got a huge deal on my first 1080p monitor( ASUS VX228H) i used to have a 720p cheap monitor so i do not indent to switch soon. So the freesync vs Gsync is irrelevant for me
2)my psu is only 460w and i dont want to change at the moment because it would push me to buy a new case which in the current canadian economy would mean around 150+$(psu+case)
3) i own a mid tower and the EVGA as the huge advantage of being ridiculously small which is eaisier to install and generate less heat, something i didn't find with AMD even thogh my case could fit a big card
4) in canada both card are pretty much the same price and dependng on which version of the 480 8g i would pick i would either save maximum 30$ or end up paying 20$ more( in other word there's no real price difference)
So considering those aspect would you recommend keeping my 1060 sc or a 480 8g as a more future proof card( +-3year) it is worth nothing that Amazon might be willing to give a 20% partial refund on the EVGA 1060 SC which would bring down the price significantly and put a +- 60$ difference between the 2 card. That being said that 60$ difference is a big deal if the 2 card are almost equal but irrelevant if the 480 manage to become significantly better in a year or so
thank you very much
