One 24" center monitor with two 21.5" side monitors. Question!!!

I have a quick question. Currently, I have a single 24" monitor. I am looking into getting two smaller 21.5" monitors (for dirt cheap). They would all be 1080p. The question I have is since the screens would be different sizes, would I be able to make it so everything lined up on all three monitors (fluid mouse movement from screen to screen?) I would be playing across all three in fullscreen and don't want to have, for example, a mountain in BF3 at two different heights when half is displayed on the 24" and the other half 21.5". Is this fixable? Rig in sig. Thanks!

It will be a bit goofy because two of the panels, although they have the same resolution, the pixels are smaller. Its not ideal, but it will probably work. I don't game on my three monitors, but mouse movement seems to be correct, even over different resolutions (the mouse is always where it should be when it crosses screens). I say give it a try!

Thanks for the info! You will most likely have to add another HD 7950 to game across all 3.

To run many newer games maxed out across 5760x1080, yes, I agree, I will need another 7950. But I know my limits and think I will be happy with turning graphics settings down with little or no MSAA for now. Might get another one down the road. I just picked up the two monitors today and will set them up in a day or two. Will update once I get everything up and running!

EDIT: Ended up buying new monitors instead of refurbished which made them $60 more, but I thought it was worth it. 😛

You should be fine. When running multiple monitors, its the resolution that lines up not the actual size of the monitor. When you scroll the mouse from one screen to the next, as long as all the screens are the same resolution then going from one screen to the other the mouse should appear at the proper place on the screen (IE if your mouse is at the top of the screen and you scroll to the next it should be on the top of that screen as well.)

During gaming you dont really look at the side screens directly, it mostly just adds peripheral vision so I dont think the size difference should bother you much there.

As far as power for gaming, you will be fine on a 7950 as long as you dont mind dialing back settings like you stated. Overall the amount you have to dial back isnt that great, I can run most games on High with my 7950, BUT I did just add a 2nd one for crossfire. With the 2nd card in crossfire I can max most games as long as I dont push the AA too high.

Oh okay. I guess mouse alignment and game alignment are different. And I was also thinking that since they are mainly for peripheral vision, they won't bother me too much. Thank you.
