One core on Intel I7 6800k is constantly at 100% - Systeminfo.exe?

Hey everyone,

I have Windows 10 Pro with an Intel 6800k cpu. I installed Windows Gadgets and I use All CPU Meter gadget to monitor my cpu usage. I haave not been in a position to do a restart yet, as I do audio production, and I am in a recording session tonight, but the first core is constantly maxed out at 100% and has been for about an hour, possibly more.

When I CTRL+ALT+Delete and open task manager, and sort the processes by CPU usage, the top process that is constantly taking 7 to 9.5% of the CPU is process called SystemInfoHelper.exe

Any ideas on what is happening? Thanks in advance for any replies.

A quick google search says another person troubleshooting Steam issues thinks this might be some result/remnant of 3dMark; have you used Steam/3dMark?

Actually, yes! I was using both, but 3D Mark seemed to freeze up during my second bench test. I was finally able to reboot and it stripped doing it.

Apparently, the task keeping one core at 100% is a glitch of the benchmarking program....you should be able to terminate Steam, restart Steam, skip the benchmark part...freeing up your core
