I have two hyperx blu 2x4gb (Kingston HyperX DDR3 4GB 1600MHz XMP CL9 Blu) i am planning to remove one and in that place put 8gb savage (HyperX DDR3 8GB 1600MHz CL9 XMP Savage) to get 12gb in all, I can't find 8gb from blu series, they are out of production probably,
so the question is will those two different series work together??? my motherboard operate the 8gb size in one stick etc. but i am worried by the series mixing, i'm using no page file so 8gb of ram is not always enough in multi tasks, in time of course i will buy another 8gb savage to have pair but not now, money issue...

Plain and simple, it's MAYBE. If you glance through the forums you'll see thread after thread of people haveing trouble adding DRAM of the same exact model, here you are taliking about mixing mixing brands, ICs, sizes and prob more, each single item makes the mixing more problematic. Not saying they won't play, but there are no guarantees. I don't know of any other builders, techs or IT folks that would recommend buying DRAM with the express purpose of mixing it with other DRAM

Hello.

Yes, they will work together and you will have the combined amount of RAM, provided the motherboard can handle 12 GB of RAM. Since you mentioned they have the same speed as well, you will have no problems with the speed also.
