I've bought everything and everything is in and I'm about to start building, but I wanted to get some more feedback before I start. It seems like every time I ask for feedback here I've been getting suggestions/ideas that I didn't consider before so I thought it was good to check one more time before its too late.

This is my latest build list based off of past feedback:

I decided to get that CPU because I wanted i7 but I don't need an igpu and I don't plan to over clock now, but I'm sticking with the Z87i because it leaves room for me to get an overclockable CPU in the future if I wanted.

Solution
Yeah, you won't get High/Ultra with that GPU at all. You should have skipped on the SSD and got a stronger GPU. And dual-channel memory would have been preferable for the editing side of things, though I know you did that for upgradeability to 16 in the future lol
Looks like an OK build. GPU is pretty old now, but if you don't care about playing the newest games with the highest settings its a good GPU. I used my 6850 until last year when I updated to a 760gtx. You only have one stick of RAM that I see. It's a dual channel proc so 2 sticks of RAM would be optimal. Real world performance it probably won't make much of a difference. Unless you're an android you probably won't notice.

I got this GPU about 2 years ago and was hoping to keep using it, you think its time to upgrade? Any recommendation?

I got one because it was on sale, but I do plan to get a 2nd one whenever it goes on sale; however,I'll be patient on that because I know that they can be heavily discounted sometimes.

What settings are you trying to be able to run modern games at?

I would like it to run between high-ultra for games. Honestly I thought my GPU would still be able to handle it, I didn't know it was considered "old" already.

I wanted the SSD for faster boot time because I'm tired of turning on the computer and waiting for what feels like 5 mins lol. I guess I could spring for a new GPU, but I would like to stay under $1000.

Hmm I don't think I want to lose the SSD, so I think I'll have to do a little shopping to get the best deal. Would the GTX 760 be the one you would recommend that would be good enough for the foreseeable future?

For High/Ultra it'll be good for awhile in most games, with the exception of like The Witcher 3 and Star Citizen lol My 760 gets DayZ and BF4 maxed out around 45-50 fps or so. It's a good combination between price and performance. If the AMD cards ever get back to MSRP, the 280x would be great too. It performs about equivalent to the 770, but costs between the 760 and 770.
