So I have a somewhat unique situation. I am upgrading my GPU to a gtx 1070. Most likely the EVGA asx 3.0 SC version. :)

However I am currently using a 27" VA panel and want something that will make things more awesome. (namely for Mass Effect Andromeda) I play lots of RPG's and Overwacth if pretty much the only online competitive game I play. (and I am not that good or competitive)

I also run my PS4 off of my monitor and I use it for a lot of netflix and movies in general.

So what type of panel should I get considering what i like and the limitations of the PS4. I was considering 1440p for a long time, but I heard it will make my PS4 and netflix look like dog shit. Is that accurate? I was also thinking of just staying 1080 and going for 144hz, as my buddy swears by it.

Also keep in mind I am poor and need to snag a deal on cyber monday.

Thank you all for your input, this site has been a fantastic source of information and help over the years!!!

It won't look as bad as they let on. I mean when you watch 720p content on a 4k panel you can totally tell, but it isn't like the 720p looks worse than it would on a 720p panel of equal size.

144hz is a big deal. 1440p is a big deal. Getting 1440p at 144hz is an expensive deal.

But just about every monitor out there is going to have multiple inputs.
As long as it has 2 HDMI, DP, or DVI you'll be able to switch sources just like on a television.
