One of my front USB ports is creating distorted audio.

I have a Logitech G430 headset and after having some mic quality issues with it realised I needed to install the latest firmware. After installing this my audio became extremely distorted. I uninstalled the firmware and restarted several times but the problem remained. Strangely the distortion only occurs when I have the headset plugged into a specific front USB port. The port itself doesn't seem to be broken and regular USB drives are recognised by it.

Does anybody know what this issue could be? Also if it matters at all I've only had this computer for a bit under a month.

My specs are:
Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition
ASUS Z170-AR LGA 1151
Intel Core i5 6500
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming G1 6GB
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz
Windows 10 home 64 bit

The headset works fine on every other USB port including the other one located on the front of the case. One thing I noticed just before posting this is that the setting that allows one to hear their own mic play back sounds fine coming through the headset. Every other noise though is heavily distorted.

I managed to resolve this issue by reinstalling the Logitech gaming software. Solution's a bit strange as it was originially not installed but at least my audio is back to normal.
