Hi Guys/Girls

Today when i started my computer i had the error

''One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency, use the system restore feature from the control panel to restore to a point prior to the recent software package installation, unspecified error (766f6c756d652e63 3f1)''

Thing is, when i click on system restore it says ''Windows has detected file system corruption on local disc C, you must check the disc for errors before it can be restored''

Then when i try and run chkdsk it says

''The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use b
process. Would you like to schedule this volume
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)''

When i click yes and restart the computer, it checks then says the exact same as before ''One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency, use the system restore feature from the control panel to restore to a point prior to the recent software package installation, unspecified error (766f6c756d652e63 3f1)''

Any help would be massively appreciated

Solution
If chkdsk found physical errors I strongly recommend replacing the drive. Those types of failures are systemic and won't just go away by moving the bad sectors to another point on the drive.
