I tried going on my desktop computer and I plugged in the ethernet cable and all it says is unidentified network. When I try to troubleshoot it, it says "One or more network protocols are missing on this computer" and than it says that it is not fixed and won't let me do anything else. Please help. It is urgent as I need to fix my computer as my C drive seems to be stuck at 100% but I need the ethernet to be working so that I can figure out what exactly is causing the issue.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am on Windows 10.

Edit: I thought I would also mention that it had recognized this network on multiple occasions so it isn't that it is a new router. Also, can't seem to keep my computer on to do much of figuring out any problems since it keeps freezing and blue screening because of the hard drive stuck at 100% which I am assuming is the issue that is causing the blue screen.

It`s because you need to in windows 10 create a new network connection.

Click on start, Control panel, Network and internet
Network and sharing center.

Click on the Network house symbol, select the type of network, home, work, or private.

Or click on setup a new network connection.

From there you select what type of network it is, Home network setup, or a private network.
Once you do that, the protocols will be added for use of them to your Ethernet adapter, lan port of the motherboard.

If you go to your local area network connection in windows, the Ethernet adaptor listed.
Left double click on it, then select the properties tab in the new small window that opens.

It will list all of the protocols installed by windows once the network type, of home or private network is selected.

I don't understand what you mean? I know you can do that for WiFi, but there are no options here that I see for ethernet or for the router im connected to...

I have done that first thing awhile back when I first had this issue but it never fixed it. I guess I will try it again... It just appears to be going extremely slow considering the issue I am having with the primary hard drive.

edit: ffs I got the whea_uncorrectable_error blue screen while it was scanning. I am so damn livid right now.
