Hi,
Could someone who knows their stuff please tell me if this build is any good? This is my first build and im a bit nervous. I need it to stay cool, look awesome inside and outside, and be fast enough to game at 60+ fps with a skype call and a browser with a few tabs open.

Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pxDxNG

Thanks, Pixelatedtrollface

It's very good for the price. You should be able to do what you want it to do and more. A couple questions tho.
1. What games will you be playing?
2. Will you be overclocking? If not, you don't need a k processor or a z97 mobo. If yes, you need a better cpu cooler.
3. PSU is overkill, you could go for a cheaper alternative like these ones. Any of them would support overclocking and are as good as the one you selected (just trying to save you some money)

Once again do not go with Corsair PSU's. They have crappy capacitors and fail early.

Not overclocking or very light overclocking:

I think that only happens with their lower branches. The hx is ok. I prefer hfx or evga tho.

^ Above is the edited build I made.

Here are the changes explained:

( I am assuming you don't intend on heavy overclocking and / or SLI - the above build will allow for SLI + light overclocking though)

- For having skype open and browser and gaming you NEED 16GB of RAM atleast. Hence I added 16GB of 1866 Mhz Ram.
- The SSD is good but a bit overpriced in my opinion. I picked an alternative for you but you can also go for the Samsung 840 EVO if you want.
- The AX760 was an overkill unless you are heavy overclocking. The XFX I have put in is a very very good PSU and will do the job perfectly fine.
- I added a blue LED cpu cooler to match your RAM for aesthetics and for a cool system. It will also allow that light/medium overclock should you wish.

Please note. .... with the 970, you will be able to game at max settings @1080p with 60+fps but with the other programs open or at a higher resolution this may not be the case.

I'm currently using a seasonic for my PSU. They are a good brand also.

Pixel, case is good but the Define r4 is better and quieter. And the gtx 970, for a bit more go with the msi, it's quieter. I say that from experience, I have a windforce card and they are pretty noisy under load, you don't want that.
And sorry for answering so fast.
