Hello all,

I am an IT enthusiast and also work in a corporate sense of IT. I am running Windows 8.1 and it has Onedrive as (from what I can see) an app that cannot be removed or disabled with ease. I DO NOT like any cloud service and I DO NOT want this silly thing to keep putting my files online. I don't trust it at all. Not one bit. It is disabled everywhere until I remove the bloody thing but after an hour or so it is syncing everything up again. The only thing I can do is pause it and it STILL uploads. As you can tell by this post I am at my whits end with this ridiculous thing. I have checked all of the settings and I am being ignored by Microsoft themselves after raising 4 calls with them. With working in IT it is not surprising with Microsoft not being able to support their own operating systems properly since XP but you can imagine the frustration with this. If it is simple it has been done, further than that is the same situation! Please Please Please help!

I have tried disabling all sorts and I am out of ideas.

Thank you

Ash

I agree with you one hundred percent.

One drive, as far as I know, requires that you log in with a Microsoft ID. So don't log in with one. Do you log into the machine with a Microsoft account or a local / company wide account? If so, perhaps you can log the One Drive out?

EDIT: Personal or corporate machine? Perhaps there's a corporate policy that machines be backed up to the cloud.

Nah it is a bog standard machine that I never wanted anything on in the beginning.
I am just baffled how people are OK with someone else holding your data on their machines.
I know I contradict myself with using google chrome etc but it is just a bit creepy.... How a horror film started in the 90's lol.

Sorry....

My G/F logged into her mail using the app so I guess thats what started it all off. I will look into a new external for backups :).

Thank you
