Onkyo Receiver and Smart TV problems

Hello! I just got a new TV a samsung 58” 4k smart tv and trying tk connect the audio to a onkyo reciever. Ive tried everything. The reciever has an optical cable connection and so does the tv. But my problem is that there isnt any sound no matter what i do. Thanks

Hi, What setting using for tv audio and what setting for receiver?

Im have dolby digital and pcm as options for audio output and i am not sure about the reciever

Ive tried setting the tv’s audio out put to “optical” and there still isnt any sound

Are you sure it's and optical input on the Onkyo? Two in don't make an out.

The receiver model is an Onkyo TX SR707 and the TV is a Samsung UHD TV 58” 6 Series MU6100
