[SOLVED] Only 1/4 of each stick of RAM being utilized?

I recently acquired a workstation PC from a friend for use with my home virtualization server, the machine has 4 Corsair 16gb RAM sticks filling all slots although in Linux screenfetch, and lshw its only listing as each stick having 4gb of memory.

I tested a couple one-by-one (single stick solo in each slot) trying to narrow down the issue, but they would still only read in every slot as being 4gb.
I have tried manually changing the timings in the BIOS to those of what are listed, and changing clockspeed as well.

I was reading the documentation for the motherboard which lists only 32gb of memory is supported although that doesn't change the fact that every stick is only showing 4gb individually.

Mobo is listed above in the documentation link, this is the ram in question: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMT16GX3M4X2133C9-Dominator-PC3-17066-Desktop/dp/B006507QXS

Please help!:coldsweat:

The link you sent is pointing to a 4x4GB kit, so 16GB in total:

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMT16GX3M4X2133C9-Dominator-PC3-17066-Desktop/dp/B006507QXS

If you have those memory modules, then you have a 4x4GB not a 4x16GB.
In the link there's a picture of one module, but in the kit there are 4 having 4 GB each(that's why is a 4x4GB kit) . If that's the case, everything is working as it should and your OS is displaying correctly.

If you wanna make sure, just take 1 memory module out and check the capacity(it should be written on it).

Oh my gosh..
What a simple overlook! haha wow.
On the actual module it lists "16gb" but I assumed that this memory had not been sold ONLY in kits so it led me to believe each was 16gb, although now that you say that it makes complete sense.

Thank-you a ton for the clarification
