So I'm in a bit of a pickle right now. My room only has 2 prong outlets and of course a PC needs 3 to run. The only place I have a 3 prong is in my living room, where my PC is set. Can I just get one of those 2 prong to 3 prong adapters?

Solution
If you use a two pins adapter and something goes wrong inside the PC/monitor/peripheral PSU that causes the live line to short to chassis ground, your case and all attached peripherals will become live at full line voltage and become an electrocution hazard.

Remove the outlet's face plate and check to see if the wiring might actually have a ground. If it does, replace the outlet with a three pins one or have it replaced if you aren't comfortable with doing that.

3 prong to 2 prong make sure you screw the middle screw in place to the late to ground it and run a power bar from there to protect from electrical feedback
