Only 3.95Gb of ram is available out of my 8

i have windows 8 pro 64bit. can someone help me update my BIOS cause i heard it may be the problem ?

Double check that the ram is tightly in the slot. Or it could be that the second stick is faulty run a memory diagnostic test like windows memory diagnostic or use memtest X86: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso
