So I had some PC problems a days ago. I bought new PC etc. but now im having my old PC lying there and i still don't know if the mobo is dead or the PSU. So i wanted test the PSU but i don't know how / if I actually can test it somehow because its this PSU:
https://www.pc-laptop.co/hp-power_supply-PCG007-p180417.htm
It has only 4-Pin for the mobo power.

I have this mobo:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05939208

So I want to try using a 20+4pin atx cable and using and connecting only this 4pin to my mobo, so I can see if maybe it will work (i think i read something it can works) .
Can I somehow damage my CPU/RAM by doing it? Or only mobo can be damaged?

Or other question how can i test this PSU if it's still working. How to test it like other 20+4pins cables

Thanks for reading!

I really wouldn't try that since i cannot say for sure what the pins put out on that original psu, where the from the new psu that +4 bit is only +12V. I don't think that the original 4 pin is only +12V rail, but adds other stuff to the pins as well, maybe a sense wire or +5V/+3.3V.
