This is a new build:
GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra
Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB
The voltage is running at 1.236V
I'm using WIndows 10 home edition.
Both Windows and the Bios are showing a little over 8GB or RAM is being used. I tried using both sets of channels---still the same.
Odd thing is, when I open Gigabyte's System Information Viewer it shows both modules are being used, one slot has a module with 8192 Mbytes, the other 512 Mbytes.
This is only my second build, but you'd figure if the one stick was dead it wouldn't read anything. Is there a setting I'm missing?
