So I'm trying to install Windows7 from usb on an Asus EeeBook E202 small netbook, and it just won't boot from USB at all (USB is set to first in boot order). If I start the setup from Windows, it crashes with a "Windows setup cannot find a location to store temporary installation files. To install Windows, make sure that a partition on your boot disk has at least 686 MB of free space" error.

Can this be because I only have AHCI mode in BIOS?

If yes, what should I do? Thanks for the help!

Solution
You probably need to enable UEFI & Legacy mode in BIOS. Also maybe try creating the partition yourself rather than letting Windows do it?

How can I enable it? As you can see on the picture, there is only AHCI mode.

No the AHCI setting is nothing to do with the UEFI/Legacy one. AHCI's alternative is RAID. There isnt a setting for boot mode on that page. Can you see UEFI anywhere in your BIOS? How old is the laptop? Sorry, haven't looked up the exact specs of your system.

First of all, thanks for you help!
The release date of the notebook is 2015, mine is brand new, bought a week ago.
I'm not quite sure where to look for that. I found this "Legacy USB support" option.
