Only DP cable showing half the screen

So basically my case is curiously killed the cat, i bought a DP cable today, spend 2 hours troubleshooting cus the DP can’t wasn’t transmitting a signal
Then half way whlist gaming i decided to be a smart ass changing my dp ver from 1.1 to 1.2 and the screen completely went black, so i plugged in my HDMI cable to change it back , and removed the HDMI cable whlist the pc was on
Restarting it with DP input now only the right side of the screen shows up, the othed 50% is black with the “check signal cable displayport” even going across whole screen
Really anxious and concerned abt it rn , any happy would be appreciated thanks

Could you give me some information about the monitor, graphics card, refresh rate and resolution? That would make the problem more specific. Thanks in advance.

It's wild speculation, but it seems that you put your monitor into a mode that requires 2 DP cables to fill the screen: is it a 240hz monitor?
And give more detail when you make a thread like this: monitor model, GPU model. How did you expect help when you give none of the actually relevant details.
