Question Only half of my ram (16 to 8) is detected

I just recently built my pc, and after many issues, the final one seems to be that only half of my RAM is detected. When I first built my PC it wouldn't load to the bios, it would just display a black screen and took forever to fix. Now that it's all configured, I can't access 8gb of ram that I'm 100% sure I should have. I've tried reseating the RAM, blowing on it, booting with one, and changing the XRAM settings and I just can't seem to get it to work. Any thoughts y'all?

Yes the RAM sticks are identical
I am running a Gigabyte B450M motherboard, and Patriot Viper Steel RGB Ram (2x8)

Assumed that you have try a single RAM stick twice to be sure that both sticks work.

Did you check the list to make sure that your RAM is fully supported when used in pair?

So what I ended up doing was changing the channel that the RAM sticks were in, I must have misread the manual, or broken one of the DIMM slots on the board. Now I am running at full 16GB power
