Only my keyboard works on computer

So on my computer the keyboard is the only thing that works, all the other usbs are regonized but don't actually work, so like my mouse doesn't work, my security camera wont work because the only usb that actually works is my keyboard.

I have tried other mouses, other ports etc. also the port that works with my keyboard doesn't work with anything else.

Please help. I have a windows xp dell OptiPlex 760 and my mouse and stuff work when I open the dell BIOS

Download and run Dell Diagnostics: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=P10CJ (the diagnostics is here even though it says drivers).

This will help identify the problem. After that solutions can be implemented.

Do as festerovic suggested and get one of these: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=P10CJ

Then download the diagnostics.

Your computer has eight (2 in front and 6 at the rear) USB ports and it is very odd that seven of them are bad. You definitely need to run the diagnostics.

Have you checked the USB ports at the rear?

Okay, so I cant seem to figure out how to download and run the dell diagnostics.

Yes, Like i said, the keyboard is the only usb device that works and it works in all ports, and when I plug mouse in, it says mouse found, the light is on, on the mouse, and it just doesnt work.

Then get a USB hub as festerovic suggested, and then proceed to download and run Dell diagnostics. It is possible to use the keyboard arrow keys, but this is not very convenient.

Okay so i ran the sfc scan now, nothing fixed, i restored, notjing, so today im going to pull up the system repair and see if that works off install CD.

Maybe try a new mouse? They can break after all. Use a different brand, it may use a different driver that will work.

Reinstall Intel Chipset Software.
Remove all USB items from PC except KB and mouse. Leave them disconnected during boot until all the loading is done and you are on the desktop.
Look in the event Viewer to see if there are any system flags.
