Only one monitor allows me to use 144hz though both are the same monitor

I just bought two asus gn246hl monitors that are supposed to be 144hz. My main monitor allows me to change it to 144hz and it seems to work, but my second monitor only has 60hz options. I have tried to install new drivers from the asus website, but it says that I have the most up to date drivers. I have a gtx 1070 sc, so it should be enough to run them. Why is it not working? If you need more information about my system just let me know.

From what I can tell, your EVGA card (https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08g-p4-6173-kr) only has 1 DVI port, which probably means you're using some sort of adapter to connect to the 2nd monitor, correct? That could potentially be the issue.

I am using one of the dual link dvi cables and one dvi to display port which is supposed to give me 144hz. Do you think that it need to have two of that same cable?

In order to use an adapter to get 144Hz, you have to have an Active Dual Link DVI to DisplayPort adapter to get the necessary bandwidth. This adapter costs about $100. If you have a cheaper adapter, it's probably only good for single link speeds and that's why you're restricted to 60Hz. The GN246HL is a bad buy today because it can only do 144Hz over DVI, a standard that is becoming deprecated, has been pretty much eliminated from AMD cards, and will probably be eliminated from Nvidia's GPUs next generation. For that reason, you really shouldn't be buying any 144Hz monitor today that does not have DisplayPort support.
