My computer case fans only work when I plug them in via an adapter to my power supply. Recently I bought 3 more Coolermaster Megaflow 200mm fans. As I was installing them I ran out of places to plug them into my power supply. I unpluged my rear 140mm fan and plugged that into my motherboard and to my surprise it worked. So I tried some of my new fans in the other motherboard case fan plug ins. None of them worked. I cant imagine why. The fans dont spin at all and the led's dont light up. My cpu fan works perfectly fine. To clarify all the Connectors on my mother board are 4 pin and all my fans are 3 pin, the motherboard is compatible with 3 pin Im quite sure as the 4th pin is just used to regulate the amount of power going to the fan.

Computer Specs:
Intel 3570k
Gigabyte UD4H 1155 LGA Socket
2 GTX 760s IN SLI
Corsair 750HX power supply
8gb Ram
Coolermaster HAF XM case

is that the case with all the case fans or just that rear exhaust fan?

Only the rear exhuast fan works when plugged into the motherboard. All the other case fans are directly plugged into the PSU via adapters. I've tried to plug the other case fans (200mm) into the motherboard but they dont light up or spin.

No fan splitter cables at all. I have a Gigabyte UD4H 1155 LGA Socket to clarify, so I have 4 or 5 connectors to plug fans into on my motherboard.

The fans are going straight to the motherboard when I try it, no adapters or anything.

You could try a 3 pin-4pin fan adaptor cable but they should be working. Are you sure you're plugging them in the right way? The notches on the fan plug should line up with the square shaped plastic bit on the fan header on the motherboard like this (http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/201311/LGA1156_DSCF5055.jpg)

I've been plugging them in right. This isnt my first PC build, I've built many PCs, this is the first time I've encountered this problem.
My guess is my motherboard itself is the problem.
Probably not something Im gonna replace, only one of my fans in computer doesn't work.
I've still got 3x 200mm fans and 1x 140mm fan going on my pc so it should be fine.
