Question Only one of my monitors are working???

So I used to use 1 of my 2 HDMI plugs and it worked fine, my friend told me to plug it in on another port. He is pretty good with computers. This is about Feburary. Now comes today. I found an old monitor in my basement. I used my xbox 360 on the monitor using HDMI which worked fine. I always wanted a dual monitor setup. So I plugged in my HDMI cord into the PC and it doesnt show anything. All my drivers are up to date. Windows doesnt detect anything besides the one. My Graphics Card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

Hey, just to confirm, your main monitor is connected using Displayport or DVI and not HDMI, correct? And when you try to connect this 2nd monitor to the HDMI port of the graphics card, nothing is happening? Do you have a laptop or another computer that you can test the monitor with so that you can actually see that the monitor and the HDMI cable is working correctly?
