Only one RAM slot is working??? N68-VS3 FX

Hi!
I was wondering recently why some video editing was going so slow, I went into the system menu in windows to find only 4GB out of my 8GB amount of ram was showing. I tried to reseat both sticks and in doing so discovered that only the RAM slot furthest away from the CPU was working.
Is my motherboard broken??? I do also use this system for gaming and will that be impacted by my lack of ram?

Seems like dead slots to me. And currently not much (in gaming) but some games require 6GB min. out of the box so you may miss out on them.

Well that sucks, looks like i'm going to have to get another motherboard as soon as I can🙁

Make sure it is running in dual channel otherwise it might not read sometimes.

There is only 2 RAM slots on the board
