I would like to begin this post by saying that I am not an audo guy, but i am confused, my speakers are plugged into a subwoofer, when i plug either one of the speakers into the right port either the left or the right one, they will work, the other one will not, This is what I am confused about, and what can I do to fix this, becuase it's irritating that I only get audio through one speaker, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh by the way, the there are 4 ports, 2 for inputs 2 for outputs, only when i reffered to siwtching them i was reffering to the input not the output ports.

Can you list actual model numbers for the subwoofer and speakers. At this point I am not even sure if this for a PC or home theater let alone if you have 3.5mm jack, unterminated speaker wire, rca, banana plugs or something else.

In general you should have both a left and right INPUT plugged into the sub, and then the left speaker plugged into the left OUTPUT and the right speaker into right OUTPUT.

Well I don't know the modle number but it's a wharfdale speaker set and it is a 3.5mm heaphone jack speaker. There is not much more i know about it.

Sorry it turns out i'm an idiot, I do indeed have a model number:
it's: s21196a

Ok, so RCA plugs.

What do you have hooked up for your source? Have you verified that both the left and right RCA plug is plugged in good at your source?
Should have RCA plug going to L and R input on your sub, then each speaker should have 1 RCA plug each and connect those to the outputs

I am 99% sure all the wires are in nice and snugg, and are in the correct place.

Well if you're asking for what i'm listening to? Well that would be anything on my pc, any sound, music, windows noises, games. If you're asking about something else i'm not sure.

That is a good idea. From time to time my 3.5mm plug gets slightly loose from the jack (cat messing around back of computer) and I lose sound in one of my speakers. I just unplug and plug it in a few times and am good to go.

No that hasn't worked
