I've recently built a new system (Specs below) with 8GB of memory (DDR3, dual channel) and in CPU-Z it says 8gb and the SPD shows both sticks fine, but in the BIOS and task manager only 4gb is recognized. Help?

mobo: ASUS M5A97 EVO
MEMORY: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline Stilleto 8gb 2x4GB DDR3-1333 PC3-10666 9-9-9-24
GPU: ASUS EAH5670 1GB
CPU: AMD FX 4100

Are you sure the memory is in the right slots? Many boards have specific placement patterns for different amounts (number of DIMMs) of memory.

My other guess is that you're using a 32-bit OS.
