Mixing RAM sizes and types is not recommended due to potential stability issues or, in other cases, inability of the system to recognize the memory at all. I would just remove 2x2 GB and use only 2x4GB (provided that these two sticks are the same model), since this amount is enough for anything apart from serious video/audio editing and 3D rendering.
I will remove the 2gb,s of ram
do I need to put the 4gbram,in specific slots r its dose not matter?.
am runniug windows7 64bits/thanks again
Which edition of windows 7 though? There are many editions of Windows 7 64x..Starting from the home basic edition which only supports 8 GBs of System memory to the Ultimate Edition which I believe supports up to 192 GBs of RAM (Not that is possible to install that much ram in a PC.)
If you want to check which edition of Windows 7 64x you have go to Control Panel and type System in the search
bar and choose system then check which edition you have there.
