OOTP 6.01 Patch available!

The OOTP 6.01 Patch was just released!

Simply unzip the new .exe into your OOTP6 main folder!

The following things were fixed or enhanced:
- Added the option to enable home field advantage in the engine setup screen
- Added the option to list all players during the first year player draft
- Added the option to display the play-by-play on the bottom of the game
screen instead of the left side
- Improved OOTP 5 league imports
- Improved player development algorythms, making first round picks less
predictable
- Adjusted scouting, players with less than 3 years of pro experience now
are harder to scout, and the scout is less likely to make a mistake. Note :
This will apply to current leagues, so you may see different ratings on
younger players now with the patch. This does not apply to leagues where
scouting is disabled.
- Improved pitching rotation handling
- Improved depth charts logic
- Adjusted calculating of attendance based on fan interest, increasing it
slightly
- Pitcher endurance is now displayed if the ability ratings are hidden
- Fixed DL related bugs & crashes
- Fixed Rule 5 Draft related bugs & crashes
- Fixed CSV import/export issues
- Fixed expanded player searches
- Fixed waiver trades bugs
- Fixed various small bugs and glitches

Personally, the more I play OOTP6, when it isn't bugging or suffering
graphical annomalies (on two different systems), I'm starting to notice the
statistical anomalies more and more. And I'm also noticing that it feels
more like I've purchased an add-on pack for OOTP5 and not a new game. I
just don't see much difference between the two games when I play.
Hopefully, the patch at least fixed the 300+ inning games that happened
occassionally. I haven't seen one in a day or so.

I'm trying to be more positive about it, but I'm really losing interest, and
that's saying something considering the bulk of my time playing it is at
work with not much else to do. Between this and Total Pro Football with
it's weird play, broken FA, and roster glitches, I can't wait for Eastside
Hockey: Franchise Edition.

Jayhawker, I think you didn't read up on OOTP6. It has a whole new game
engine based on the DIPS theory, and from the time I've spent with the game
so far it looks like the stats are a lot more realistic. The ratings
categories are completely redone, now batters have contact, eye/patience,
power and gap power. Pitchers have stuff, velocity, control and endurance.

You know how 40 man rosters, Rule 5 Draftees, Waiver Wires, Minor League
Option Years, etc. I think that combined with the improved engine, this is
the most improved OOTP to date. You might want to take a look at the game
again and see how it has changed. You might be surprised.

That would require Jayhawker to actually play the game, maybe like it,
and then what would he have to bitch about? He prefers to ridicule
the game, designer, and everyone who likes what ootp has to offer as
far as a career baseball sim goes.

I'd better keep it down "The Enagmic One" is watching.
