[SOLVED] Open Anyway doesn't work (El Capitan 10.11.4)

A lot of my apps don't come from the app store. When I click to open them (when they're first downloaded), gatekeeper says it can't because the developer is not identified. I go to security and say open anyway, but it still doesn't work. I end up having to change the setting to disable gatekeeper

Navigate to the Applications folder, right click on the App, select Run... from then-on it'll just open in the normal way.

I may try this next time if I remember. Last time I tried ctrl click (or the other way there is to open a blocked app) and it didn't work
