So I'm looking to buy an Asus Z97-AR, for $150, I looked at Microcenters' website and they're having an openbox for $95.99 for it. I'm not sure if I wanna risk it, or if it's worth it, Idono.
Let me know your opinion if it's worth it.

Ubercake is absolutely correct about reliability in open boxed motherboards. Me, I've purchased a total of two mobo's from Newegg and each time it's been very pleasant. Only downside is the openboxed mobo's might not have everything such as what occurred with me...missing I/o plate but otherwise a complete box. Microcenter is a better choice simply because if you purchase at your "local" Microcenter, you can return the openboxed mobo in case you have problems thereby saving on shipping costs. You must however quickly install/test/use the openbox mobo since it normally comes with a 30-day warranty which is what Newegg warranties. I'm presently waiting for Newegg to sell openbox returns on a decent X99 mobo which along with a $299...

Should still be under warranty regardless. If it doesn't work you can RMA. I've never had a issue with open box items especially from Microcenter, the ones I have bought were samples or items they played around with and not a customer return.

DDR4 ram is still presently overpriced which is a deal breaker for me also
