Long story short the keyboard was spilled with coffee with cream and sugar and now most of the keys could not be pressed. I removed the 14 screws that I saw underneath even the hidden under the tapes and the warranty stickers but I can't open the keyboard. On the upper side something is holding it where the multimedia buttons are. I used a butter knife but if I force it a little more I fear I may brake it. I read on other board someone did exactly that but no solution was given at the end.

You may not need to have to take the thing apart but you would need to at least remove the keys, clean those off, and clean off the mechanism underneath it. I doubt you will get it working if "most" keys don't work now. A few, OK, most, not good. You would basically have to soak the whole thing for a while to clear things up, which would as likely damage it in another way.

Late, but this may help others.

Assuming the KB is as mine, MS wireless 2000 which has the multimedia keys at the top as a shiny black button strip with 'Home' 'Mail' '1' '2' '3' and so on. 15 in total.

Well, underneath that multimedia strip is an additional 7 screws to the already 14 at the bottom. To remove that strip is tricky, I broke one button but it all went back together.

I used a small two mm flat screw driver much like a jewellers screwdriver. The retaining clip for each button along the strip is at the middle back/top. You need to gently insert the screw driver at the middle back of each key gently pushing in whilst lifting up with your finger nail for example until you unclip the first one. Do not lift or be forcefull, it's very flimsy as well as it all has to come of as one strip and each button has a clip. By the 4th one I got a bit aggressive:no:

Once the strip is off you should see small pieces of tape between what would be the key buttons. Under each piece of tape is a screw, remove all 7 plus the 14 at the bottom of the keyboard, including the two under the front rubber feet (not back feet) The two under the stickers and the one in the battery compartment. Once done do the traditional method of running a butter knife along the edge to split it open.

On reassembly, again, do not be forcefull. The multimedia strip is press fit and even if you broke a few as I did it still should all fit back together.
