I have a Packard Bell IMEDIA 2217 UK. When I bought it Windows Vista was preinstalled. Because I prefer windows xp I purchased a 32 bit windows xp OS with service pack 3 and licence key on CD and attempted to install it, by setting the BIOS to "Boot from CD".
What happend was, a blue screen displayed the text...
"a problem was detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer". "If this is the first time you'v seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps".
It then continues to suggest scanning for viruses and removing newly installed software, and checking the hard drive to ensure it is properly configured and terminated, Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78o2524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
What should I do?
