Soooo , i am building a PC for my brother. He wants it to be able to run new games such as GTA V Just Cause 3 e.t.c. I have made a first build and i would like some opinions and maybe suggest some improvements. He is certainly not going to overclock soooo yeah..... I think he won't be needing a case , i will use his older one(decent case) and maybe upgrade later if needed. Also I will be ordering to Greece so the price indicated is probably lower than the actual one .Thanks in advance for your help

You have to replace the FX-8350 with an Intel i3-4150.

Performance wise It's very comparable but you'll save money so you can spend it on a better GPU.

At your budget an Intel i5 is not possible and your GPU will be a big priority.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 3.6GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($83.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($62.95 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.49 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video...
If hes not overclocking,go with a locked i5 and a cheap mobo,you will save a few bucks that can be spent in a better GPU,for example:i5 4440 with a B85/H81 mobo.Youll save like 40 euros,and with that money you can get a R9 280

I guess i could save some dough on the motherboard , but aren't intel cpus tiny bit overpriced compared to amd's cpus ? Also , is the cpu i chosen too much , or is it designated for overclocking?

whatever you save on buying amd/radeon over intel/nvidia you will lose in 6 months in electricity bills.

Also you got 200w headroom, the xfx ts 550w cost the same and got better components in it than Corsair CX series, and still leaves you with more than ewnough headroom.

Ok i missclicked the best solution .... anyway... not really digging the i3s .... :/ Will the one you mentioned be able to run such games ?

Try your best to do some research about the Intel i3-4150 and I'm sure you'll change your mind.

It is the best for your budget and will perform better than an i5-4460/FX-8350 with an R9 270X

The performance in a lot of games will be the same as an Intel i5.

Why? A lot of games do not require more than 2 cores.

So what about games that do require more than 2 cores? The i3-4150 has hyper threading, 4 threads. That's taken care of aswell.

It's the only ideal budget CPU in your price range, It's up to you.

Hmmm i have checked it out seems better indeed for my budget , but how will it perform on a higher end GPU like the one i have listed in the link.
And maybe i should downgrade the watts on the PSU too? Or maybe something semi-module with less power?
How about this one : https://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500m
Also , I have my doubts about the mobo , any suggestions?

The GTX 960 actually performs a bit better than the R9 280 in most games.

I rate the GTX 960 higher than the R9 280.

Right now a lot of people are having issues with the R9 280 aswell in Battlefield 4.

That's your choice though, both good graphics cards.

Might be a better option to consider a motherboard with USB 3.0 headers.

Could you suggest an other MOBO ?
I have heard that the nVidia GPUs have more utilities , which in my case will be useless , thus i prefer an AMD one :)

Hmmm if i choose the GTX , which series should it be in your opinion?
Plus i am really hoping i can fit an i5 -4440 :/ Do you think it is going to make huge difference ?

Maybe you can fit in a Super Flower 450 watts power supply that won't cost you much (if you can find it).

Sooo i have tried this site , i don't know how accurate or reliable it is , but i seems like the cpu is falling behind :/
For the psu i think i will stick with the corsair i have listed before
And for the GPU i will have to think :/

Game-debate results are not accurate.

Why? Their results are based on the recommended specifications given by Rockstar. It doesn't actually reflect real-time performance.

The Corsair CX600 is a bad power supply by the way.

All Corsair power supplies below 100 euros/dollars are poor quality.

The XFX TS 550w or any Super Flower 450w and above will be your best bet.

1)Ok i found the Super Flower 450w
This is the whole part list with custom prices : http://it.pcpartpicker.com/p/7TGtBm
2)Do you think within this budget that we could upgrade the motherboard? Maybe more SATA ports and RAM slots , higher capable RAM frequency ? Get a mini-ATX , possibly? (This one ???? http://it.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-b85i)
3)Would a cheap (but silent?) fan be worth it?
4) How about this GTX ? http://it.pcpartpicker.com/p/LhVZK8

Only buy the Super Flower 450w if you're using the GTX 960 (Very efficient GPU, doesn't need a high wattage power supply).

If you buy the R9 280 you take the XFX TS 550w power supply.

If you want a mini-ATX motherboard you sacrifice the features of a mATX/ATX motherboard for a smaller size.

A good motherboard, in ATX size (a lot of features):

If you want Mini-ITX you can take the one you suggested but make sure the GPU will fit if you buy a small ITX case.

If you buy a H97 motherboard you can upgrade your CPU to Intel Broadwell (5xxx) Series in the future.

Truly you could easily get away with an FX 6300/6350 and put that money towards a better gpu. I would not go for Intel with your price range .

To the person who said with electricity costs AMD is MORE expensive after 6 months.
Running a 8300 24/7 for 365 days it only costs like $5 more than Intel.
Do not full the internet with more lies enough people do that!!

But truly the only thing I would change on your build is the GPU otherwise it looks like a pretty good build

The FX-6300 is only ~10 dollars less expensive than the i3-4150 and needs an aftermarket cooler to be quiet.

You do not need an aftermarket Coley with it unless you are overclocking but that goes without saying. if you want to sound more money and get less of a processor go for it but I certainly wouldn't.

even if that meant staying with the cheap mobo (not the last one you showed me) and temporarily with my old HDD ???(can't remember which one is , once i know i will notify you)
