Opinion on first gaming PC build

I agree with Elbert. An SSD is a very important piece that really improves user experience. The 850 EVO is my recommendation, but there are cheaper drives that also are great like the SK Hynix SL308. I would even go so far to say that you could hold off on buying an HDD for bulk storage and pick it up later if money is tight right now for you. If it's not a problem, just get both. I put an SSD in my brother's computer - the SK Hynix drive. It cut boot times from over three minutes (granted, the HDD was old) to under 30 seconds. In regard to RAM, it's easy to throw in an extra stick. Migrating to a new storage drive can be more of a pain. Also, for just gaming, 8 GB is fine. Adding another 8 GB is a good idea, but it's not an absolute need.

A 250 GB drive is enough for an OS, your programs, and 2-4 games. when you find you really need more storage, 1 TB HDDs can be found for under $50.
