Opinion on Steelseries Qck Gaming Mouse Pad?

Even though it is 5 star rated on newegg, my friends have bought this same mouse pad with ripples on it, since it is rolled up as the packaging. Before I buy this seemingly good mouse pad according to newegg, has anyone else bought this and rendered it unusable due to it's ripples on the cloth surface due to packaging?

The picture of the mouse pad is also rippled, just wondering if it's weird lighting or not. Here is the exact newegg link:

It evens out pretty easily. Treat it like a dollar bill, face the smooth side towards an edge and run it against it to even it out a bit. Or even a few days of regular use will take care of it. Mine had the same ripples when I first got it, still using it now 5 years later, works just fine.
